History

The Battalion left Melbourne by train on 16 February 1942 and arrived at Noonamah on the 25th. They left the Northern Territory in September 1943 and later went on to serve in New Guinea and Bougainville. They received battle honours for the liberation of Australian New Guinea. They returned to Australia in March 1946 and were disbanded in May 1946.,
